Wildcat Ambassador

Our Clan animal, the European wildcat, is once again represented in the German forests with over 8,000 specimens.

Protecting the wildcat and ensuring its conservation is a special challenge for the Members in Germany.

The Members are official wildcat ambassadors of the environmental organisation BUND NRW e. V. In addition to active work in the forests, educational work is very important. Extensive educational work is carried out at the Clan Pavilion at Scottish events in Germany.

Results of our work in the forests

The Members also give talks in primary schools and at various evening events for adults.

Donations are collected to support the foster cats in the Reuschenberg Wildlife Park near Leverkusen.

Two major projects are currently being pursued with great commitment.

One is to finance a larger enclosure for the wildcats in the wildlife park and the other is to promote the reintroduction of wildcats born in Germany into Scottish forests.
