The Scottish wildcat (Latin: Felis silvestris silvestris; Gaelic: cat-fiadhaich na h-Alba) is the ancient symbol of Clan Macpherson, and the broader "Cat Confederation" (Clan Chattan) of which our clan is a founding constituent.

Scottish wildcats are classified as critically endangered in the United Kingdom. Habitat loss, poaching, and interbreeding with domestic felines has led to a sharp population decline.
