Scottish Books and Suppliers (A list of Scottish books, references, and selected supplies)
The listings that follow are a cooperative effort by the Jerry Minnis (Diarmid), Dave Murdock(Mhuirich),
Alan Kerr, and Earl Ross.
It is our intent to assist our many friends in locating Scottish references for their research and/or
heritage studies. The project quickly became far larger than we had originally imagined, and we are
certain that there are many, many more works that could, and should be included ( we have already
learned of at least a couple dozen. But there HAS to be a cut-off point). In addition, we attempted to
stay away from any clan specific works, in order to maintain a general appeal and to eliminate any of
our personal clan or family biases. As a result, we acknowledge that the listing is far from being
complete, and that there are, and always will be, gaps in our information.
It is hoped (and expected that these listings will be revised from time to time, but no particular
schedule has been set (for we are active genealogists and Scottish researchers/historians, and DO have
other interests and our own research to work on, you see.
Following the list of books, we have included a list of Scottish "Suppliers", which we hope will assist
you in locating those works cited.
We hope you find our efforts helpful. If you have items or suggestions for inclusion in future editions,
