The top sample is called 'Gypsy' and may be associated with the Clan Macpherson as a result of James Macpherson, the Highland Freebooter whose mother is said to have been a gypsy.
The bottom sample is known as the 'Macpherson of Cluny' tartan. Its sett is similar the Modern Red tartan but the colours are closer to the Clan Chattan tartan.
