Macpherson Tartans

The top sample is called 'Macpherson Hunting' and is derived on an old plaid that was known as the Breacan Glas or Gray Plaid. It is the most popular of the Macpherson tartans.

The bottom sample is known as the 'Clan Chattan' tartan but it has appeared in some tartan sample books from earlier times under various names including 'Clan Macpherson', 'Chief Macpherson' and 'Cluny Dress'.
