Young 'Old Cluny'

Cluny is wearing a great kilt made of what is now known as Macpherson Dress Tartan. At an earlier time it was listed in certain manufacturers' pattern books as 'Macpherson Undress' and later as 'Macpherson Full Dress'. It is similar to a tartan popular with Lowland women called 'Maggie Lawder'

The pistol in his belt is currently on loan from the Victoria Museum in Australia, and can be seen on Panel 86 Right.
